I'd laugh, but the offense and defense are fucking putrid too. How you don't fire the manager to try something different is beyond me...

There's no accountability in this organization.

Middleton extends the contracts of the morons he brought in. Klentak tells the media Coco Nuts is safe this season. Coco Nuts won't bench anyone who half-asses it. Veteran players will play grab-ass in the dugout but god forbid anyone has a players-only meeting or gives a teammate an earful.

      This is now the culture.

To the extent one can judge from afar, I agree that the culture seems lame ... which is set by the manager.

That stupid ass waving to the dugout was bush league when they were in first place ... and continuing to do it now is an embarrassment IMO.

The only guy with the cred to get up in that team's ass just got there and he's underachieving as a power hitter.

        So, yes, it's pretty fucked.

You many have heard but the waving is a homage to Fortnite which was what some of these 'professionals' were playing during the game. Last year, Santana eventually took a bat to the TV they were playing on after a game. Good forbid Coco Nuts tell them to take that time to spend it improving their game.

I think something is wrong with him, but you guys are right, culture is terrible.

Half the problem is culture, the other half is that the players are too focused on what the numbers are telling them to do and not doing what got most (all) of them there in the first place. That's an uncomfortable way to play ball.

One guy that nobody talks about is Chris Young, the pitching coach. Shit for brains Klentak fired Kranitz, who is doing great in Atlanta, in order to keep Young. Meanwhile all of the young pitchers on the Phillies regressed.

Vinny Velasquez is a perfect example of the lack of a good pitching coach. How many years has he been unable to pitch over five innings because of a high pitch count? If you still haven't been able to fix that issue by now, someone has to go.

They've trotted out prospect after prospect who hasn't even performed competently this season. A guy like De Los Santos should at least give you decent production.
