Ehhh, 17 in a row is tough to deal with...a loss and bad game was bound to occur. They need Embiid NOW.

They would have lost with or without him tonight. This is the playoffs, our turn to make adjustments

Probably right. They are relying way too much on the 3...need to work the ball better.

While they definitely had some bad stretches, they got close toward the end. They let the Heat (and the refs) dictate the character of the game, they hurried their passes and shots, and they just weren't going in. Take a breath, regroup, and take control again. They can definitely do this.

I saw somebody on twitter last night compare that game to the Eagles game vs Seattle this year. The Eagles/Sixers were/are clearly the more talented team but they just couldn’t really get it to click against the physical, aggressive and veteran Seahawks/Heat.

I never expected this series to be easy, just gotta see how the team responds.

No way. That 2nd quarter would not have happened with Embid.

Seems like a good comparison. Some of those physical plays could have easily been called holding in the NFL.

Agreed. Embiid provides an outlet when the jumpers aren't falling. They were screwed last night.

Simmons HAS TO take the 10-12 footers when they pack it in and dare him to shoot.

Miami created blueprint to handle Simmons last night. If he doesn’t even attempt to make wide open 10 footers no D will come out on him in a 1/2 court Offense. Why would they?

lots of things I didn't like out of Brett Brown...

                      - Gotta go Fultz over TJ at this point
                      - Simmons was using too much energy getting the ball up the court -- he was contested up the court every time. Sucks that you can't play Fultz and Simmons at the same time yet.
                      - Need to have Simmons work inside more without the ball, hence the need to have Fultz on the court with Simmons
                      - there was panic when the shooters were running through screens bc Miami was putting 3 men on the 3 point line. panic = people knowing where you're going. Gotta work it inside out in that scenario.
                      - Rotation was basically down to 7 guys and need it see 9 guys rotate.

he got too cute when Ilyasova started over Johnson. And then you're correct --- when they're struggling to hit from outside you need to bring in the better low post scorer in Holmes.

No doubt he has to add that to his game, but he still had 24/8/9 last night. Honestly, I think they just beat him up in the second quarter. He adjusted but it was too late.

I did not understand playing TJ over Fultz. Fultz is limited by experience but he is way more talented and has shown that he is capable of providing a spark. Brown had a couple head-scratchers last night.
