                          Baseball is a very different game than I grew up with. To think the highest contract in the history of the game going to a guy who hit .249 with 32 HR’s and 100 RBI’s who has never won anything is crazy.

                            OPS is now the measure of a slugger.

                            Even in a down year in 2018 his was .889 which I believe ranked 11th in the NL.

                            Also, keep in mind this is largely about marketing. Imagine how much $$$ Middleton will make on Harper merchandise and a massive jump in attendance. Contract will probably pay for itself.
