The current regime seems to have kept the better parts of their predecessors, but have evolved the parts where they lacked. Pederson has the good parts of Reid, but can manage a clock and not choke. Howie has Banner's contract skills, but seems to be able to see factors outside of the numbers on paper.

For once, it feels like we can finally say, "Why not us?"

      I agree.

This area feels like the tweaked version of the Reid/Banner area.

I'm also glad Chip came along and showed us how good we had it.

Yeah. Doug definitely is doing things I hoped/thought Chip would do.

But Doug and the Eagles have been smart enough to keep the good aspects that he introduced.

If Doug came in after Reid, then he would have just been seen as a hand-made successor. By coming in after Chip, Doug got to reverse course on things that were hardly part of the DNA of the organization.

In a way, Chip died for our sins. LONG LIVE CHIP!

              It's looking good

So how he is much more than Joe Banner light. Too bad chip had to come in and knock him out of his job or we might have been here sooner

This was typical of head coaches wanting total personnel control. It's a real rarity that it works out in the long run.

One of the things I like with the Eagles now is the "team first" mentality, and it starts from the top down. Yeah, there are big personalities, but they seem to maintain the proper perspective.

I think the forced sabbatical probably helped.
