i don't think that the attitude surrounding this team affects what they do on the field. but by virtue of the fact that they have the best record in the NFL, the only place they can go is down.

a loss would also result in overreactions. if this team doesn't go 6-0 in the division, it won't be the end of the world. let's say they lost the opener to the skins, but won tonight - 5-2 would have been considered a great start.

in this case i think it's more similar to the way that college teams are unfairly judged for late-season loss, and unfairly forgiven for early-season losses.
