Would have made a great Dallas Cowboy
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

I didn't want him in the HOF to begin with and after the latest story it really has confirmed my stance. What a scumbag.

Can just see him and Lance Rentzel sharing a park bench

And singing Sweet Little Sixteen and Kelly Green's favorite, Young Girl.

Not defending this heinous act, but if you are going to bash him for doing this in the 70's, than you have to bash almost every rock star back then too. They all banged groupies who were in their early teens while the rockers were in their 20's. No matter what he did, he's still one of the best players ever and deserves to be in the HOF!

So you're saying that because other people have fucked kids, it's ok for ol Pete & he should still be in the HOF? Come on dude... are you trolling?

Not trolling and I'm not defending him. That's some sick shit but his play on the field has nothing to do with his actions off the field. That's my opinion.

I get what your saying, but I think people should be held to a certain standard. Then again, you don't have to be held to a certain standard to be POTUS anymore, so why should you have to for the HOF?

                Here's some trolling for you

If you heard some hot actress (pick any one that's now 60 years old) was boning a 16-year old high school star quarterback in her neighborhood when she was 22, would you have the same attitude about her that you have about Pete Rose?

Yes, but maybe just because I wasn't the 16 year old.

I'm not eligible for the HOF.

Honestly, if the stories are true, he was having 12 to 14 years old delivered to him at Spring Training? If the story was the same the other way around, as you mentioned, than yeah, it would still be quite fucked up and disgusting.

Edit: And the girl that just came out:

"She said that when she was 14 or 15 in 1973, she received a call from Rose, who at the time was about 32 years old, married to his first wife, and a father of two."

I thought the report was that he was in his 20's and the girl was 16.

Regardless, I always felt Pete Rose was an asshole when he played for the Reds ... but in 1980 he was our asshole.

The HOF was fucked by steroids anyway ... so I don't really give a shit if that asshole gets in or not.

True, the HOF doesn't have much meaning anyway.

This was the previous story, before this girl came out (it obviously wasn't proven):

Dowd on the radio show said that memorabilia dealer Michael Bertolini, who was also Rose's bookmaker, once told him he "not only ran bets but ran young girls (to Rose) down at spring training, ages 12 to 14."

"Isn't that lovely? So that's statutory rape every time you do that," Dowd said. "He had Bertolini running young women down in Florida for his satisfaction, so you know he's just not worthy of consideration or to be a part of the game; this is not who we want in the game of baseball."

In related news .. the Phillies just cancelled their Wall of Fame induction (and bobblehead giveaway) for Rose at the upcoming Mutts game on 8/11.
