  • We could have had Aaron Judge?!!!

When the Phils were shopping Cole Hamels, we had a deal in place eith the Yankees that would have landed them Aaron Judge and some other players/picks. Of course the rocket scientists that run our team got greedy and wanted more (thus killing the deal). WTF? They always fuck this shit up!

Where did you see they could have had Judge? This article is from before the trade...

CBS Sports MLB Insider Jon Heyman says the Phillies have long been interested in Judge and Severino -- and that the Yankees don't want to deal either.
Maybe the Yanks changed their tune, but, if the Phils had long coveted him and then he was finally offered, I doubt they'd turn it down.

They took Nola a couple picks before at the draft

They were talking about it on 97.5 this morning.

Take nothing that you hear on Philly sports radio at face value.

Also, keep in mind that plenty of sluggers like Judge crash and burn. At 25 he is definitely a bit of a late bloomer.

'roids are definitely not out of the question.

I'VE FOUND NOTHING THAT SAYS PHILS SAID NO WAY. EVERYTHING I'VE FOUND SAYS YANKMEES SAID HE'S STAYING.

He's a big and tall guy. It might not be 'roids.

Gotta friend who moonlights for testing MLB players. I think it would be hard to get around the test unless you had something completely new that dosen't show up on a test. They test urine and blood.

Could just be leverage from being such a big dude.

Questions for him going forward are health and contract and whether teams and pitchers figure him out. (see Ryan Howard). He's definitely a phenom this year.

I'm fine with Nola though. When healthy...he's been a really good pitcher. I'll always take the pitcher over the hitter.

The bigger problem is that Franco has regressed and has no clue at the plate. Altherr looks like a good hitter though.

That's a good debate. I agree good pitching beats good hitting. But pitchers don't play every day.

True...but if out of 32 starts your team wins 25 that the pitcher takes part in...I'll take that pitching.

If judge is on this team... They have maybe 2 more wins? Maybe not anymore?

When Nola is healthy (Which is a problem) he's got an era close to around 2.7... Which is very good.

The one thing I know is if Judge was on this team right now it would be more entertaining.

Whether they would be better win wise is another question. I kinda agree he would not make that much of a difference, but I do have to note the Phils have lost of 1 run games.

A dominant pitcher can win a lot of games (see Carlton, Halladay, etc.) I'm not convinced Nola goes into that category. nor am I convinced Judge continues this level of production in the future.
