  • Sixers success puts pressure on eagles to keep pace.

Which is good for the fans. Lurie won't tolerate the sixers being most popular team in the city. Pressures on, Howie.

Sixers dominating sports talk radio in philly! Lurie's rabbit ears will be picking that up on a daily basis. God this is great!

If sixers continue to grow and build on the month of January watch the eagles make a Lurie ordered splash pick in the first round: Dalvin cook!

The Sixers' success puts pressure on you to come up with reasons why the Eagles might not suck soon.

Flyers and Sixers will be putting a ton of pressure on Jeffrey. Both teams are young and only going to get much better!

The FO has their work cut out for them this year!

Down with Cook or Mike Williams, we will probably have to trade up for either no?

          It will help the fans...

....the spotlight with the draft coming to Philly and for those following the Sixers will have healthy distractions for the offseason.

Perhaps the season of the cannibal will not feel so long or severe this year?

I do agree about the pressure on Lurie, nothing better than peer pressure to get things moving in a positive direction.

Eagles typically own the city. Any legit threat to their crown is only gonna benefit the fans.

I know you hate hockey, but Hextall has them heading in the right direction

Anything that presses the Eagles to do more/better I'm good with

There is a chance that, within a few years, the Eagles will be the worst team in the city. You know Lurie can't handle that. Would be a nice kick in the rear end if he was just lazy and didn't want to act. Problem is he wants to act, but isn't competent at the job.

The Flyers won 10 games in a row this year and they were barely a blip on anyone's radar outside of diehards.

Of things/teams that force the Eagles to do more, the Flyers are low on that list.

Edit to add: No offense to you BL or any other hockey fans. That wasn't meant to be a slight towards you guys and your fandom, just a fact that with NHL being firmly in 4th place of the Big 4 sports, it will be hard for any NFL team to fear a NHL team's success. Just my two cents.

Remember the Eagles trading McNabb on the opening day of the Phillies

Mechhoir posted a Link to that espn piece about Lurie being much more involved in the day to day. He was the 1 was made BB resign Bradford (allegedly).

So basically, you're right. Eagles will rank 4th

None taken and I agree. I just know if the Flyers win another cup before he Eagles first Super Bowl, same with Sixers, that Lurie will have a mob at his front door trying to run him out of town.

is that the Sixers are challenging the Eagles hegemony?

From 2007-2011 it was the Phillies.

The sixers franchise doesn't have expectations right now so of course they are winning.
